Web-to-Mobile Patented Text Messaging Portfolio Ready for Distribution

March 16, 2012

Text messaging has emerged as one of the most cost-effective marketing tools. More recently text messaging has evolved from the simple person-to-person (P2P) communication to more advanced automated systems that include application-to-person (A2P) or Web-to-mobile text messaging such as ordering products and services, mobile office alerts, finance, mobile marketing services, voting, and corporate communications.

ICAP Patent Brokerage, a leading intellectual property brokerage firm and organizer of ICAP Ocean Tomo Auctions, announced it is offering a patented technology from Bulletin.net, Inc., which allows for cloud-based two-way SMS messaging.

The technology discloses a technique that enables two-way SMS text message communication between Web applications and mobile devices by using a Web-hosted SMS Gateway (News - Alert) for connecting IP applications to the global wireless network and transmitting messages to and from mobile devices.

The patented solution enables secure, threaded, and cost effective text messaging services between a server and a mobile device from Bulletin.net.

The Web-to-mobile solutions are used for messages created by social networking, mobile banking services, ISP instant messaging, marketing, service provider notifications and purchased content deliveries commonly deployed as Short Code Services.

The most significant aspect of this technology is that it addresses the technical challenge involved in A2P messaging by creating two-way replies or threaded SMS conversations between Internet Protocol (IP) and Mobile Identification numbers.  The technology encompasses both Short Codes Phone (News - Alert) Numbers and Long Format Phone Numbers.

"As social networking and smartphone usage continue to experience exponential growth rates, we see the A2P messaging segment to benefit from this growth thereby creating an estimated $70 billion segment in five years," said Dean Becker of ICAP Patent Brokerage, in a statement.

"Further, Bulletin's offered A2P technology is already deployed by medium to large enterprises and is in use by thousands of customers worldwide who recognize its innovation and value," Becker added.

Text messaging is growing more mainstream in North America and globally enabling a new ingenious way to improve the lives of people every day, says David Vaughan, director of Projects, TSG Global, a provider of text messaging solutions.
